02 foreman rubicon 500

Good afternoon first time poster I have a 500 foreman rubicon 2002 and the cooling fan is not coming on. Is the fan controlled by a fan relay which I cannot find for the life of me or is it controlled by the ecm (cdi). Thanks in advance.

I believe the cdi gets input from the oil temp sensor and the water temp sensor. I hear it’s harder to get the fan to kick on but mine came on today a lot....probably due to the outside heat. Pull a connector on one of the sensors and ground it out, if the fan kicks on you know it works. A lot of idling will usually get it to kick on.

Here is the service manual. https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1hogF...xport=download
