Shifter Rod Length

Hi all.

Just finished rebuilding my Rubi's motor, and it is purring like a kitten. However, it appears that I can only shift into reverse, neutral, and drive. Does not appear to engage in the Low. I was looking at my shift rod, and comparing the measurements to the repair manual, it seems way out. My current shift rod (long one) measures 14.5" from the underside of the nut c/t ball joint to the underside of the support bracket. Manual says this dimension should be 12.95". There is not enough play in the rod to adjust down to 12.95". Anyone got another measurement, or is the manual wrong, or do i need to order a new rod? Short Rod is correct at about 2.3".

I know the rubi will shift into low as I had the selector in the wrong position when I put it all together and was able to get Low, but not Reverse.

What year? My manuals say 12.95 +/- for the 01-04 and 14.13 +/- for the 05+.

2005, so the 14.13 seems right then. I will double check my measurements. I did not see in the manual the distinction in model years, so I will look at the manual again. Thanks for your help.

Just to closeout the thread with an answer, the 14.13 is correct, but my manual does not specify a different length for the 2005 model year. Anyways, I have found the when shifting, if the motor is running, the rubi shifts into all gears with little issue. If it is sitting with the motor off, then sometimes need to rock it to get it into the gear. Otherwise, works great.
