What mount did you buy for the winch, KFI?

I mounted my replacement switch with the same Superwinch types as this; the photos and video really helped; i too installed the relay box in the back; and i tied the red switch wire into the battery positive side as 1 of the screws for the ignition cover wouldn't turn...the winch won't kill the battery from sitting. The clock does that after awhile. I had a direct hookup switch with just the 4-wires before and it never drained the battery....why would we need a clock in the digital dash in the first place? I see it as just a convenience.....my wheeler sat for 4 months and then i had to use the pullcord; so it was due to the clock; after sitting idle with no use of course any battery will go dead; just the way it is.

Yeah mine has been fine, I accidentally wired it hot, doesn't seem to cause a problem for my purposes.

You should run it to a switched power source for safety. My three year old has been climbing up on my rides for the last two years. Pushin every button flipping every switch twisted every knob and pulled every lever. Before you say my kids know better, my boy was with me at a buddy's house playi g outside with his kids. I went out to check on them and he was on top of my friends street bike! Pushin buttons.
