Foreman 500 (2015) Winch mount right-side up or only upsidedown?

I'm obsessing over getting a winch. The fact it's I've never installed one, understand whatever winch, it'll need a mount that is specific to the atv. Seeing only a very small set of options for mounts and trying to figure out if only way my 2015 TRX500FM1 is to use a mount where a winch is going to be "upside down" and if that even matters.

Any 2015 Foreman 4X4 owners, whos added a winch back in 2015 and it's still working great?

I think they are upside down on my 17, had to spin the dial on the winch for better access, but no difference in how it works

if you HAVE to flip the winch, , when you do install it, remember you want the wire/syn rope to be coming off the spool from the BOTTOM, not coming off the top of the roller, this means you MIGHT have to unwind the rope and re install t, to make this possible
as you want the line to have a load on it at the bottom of the spool, not the top!
I hope this makes sense to you and I am NOT confusing you!

installing a winch isn;'t that hard if you have some basic skills, tons of Youtube videos out there too if you wanted to look at some and see too!

Good to know... I've been watching some videos... deciding on either the badlands 3500 with KFI mount or some orher 3500 winch and mount combo...

I think I used a KFI plate on my Foreman, but I don’t remember for sure. RT2500 mounted upside down, works fine. I left the spool wound as it came. My understanding was you want the line to feed from they side of the drum closest to the mounting plate, to minimize stress on the winch housing and mount, but I could be wrong.

Only disadvantage I can think of for upside down mounting is the winch is lower, and more prone to being dunked.

Yes... ended up talking to winch company and for inverted mount, you do not un-wind and change anything.... basically when turned over "upside down" you spin it 180 and the line is still "the bottom of the winch" but is "top" when looking at it upside down.
