Pull Start / Fuel Inj.

Iíve never had the battery fail on one of these fuel injected Honda ATVs. The 2018 Foreman Iím looking at, has the pull start installed. Since there isnít any manual fuel prime, donít you need some battery to prime for start?

Yes you still need a battery in it to pull start it, not sure how low of voltage will power the injectors, but I do know they won't start without a battery

The pull start has a capacitor with it to store a tiny bit of power for when you have to use the pull start.

My suggestion is to ditch the pull start and carry a booster if riding alone, or cables if riding with others. You pretty much only get one shot with the pull start on an EFI bike if the battery is toast, and it's a pain to pull start the bigger machines.

Thanks for that, so a one shot deal with a pull start. I set up my two ATVs with leads that plug into a battery tender. I can also use the same plug/leads to plug in a small lithium battery pack. Haven’t had to use one yet, but I can also plug in a solar panel and leave it that way...
