I just recently purchase a set of 27" Maxxis Zillas; however, the tires run excatly a full inch short. I heard they run a little short, but a full inch is ridiculous.
If a company advertises a tire as a 27", it seems they should tell their engineers to make it measure close to or exactly 27". Again, a full inch shorter than advertised is terrible.
I have gotten use to tires running short, most of them do. Then you come across a heavy one that runs true to size or bigger and it's about the same dilemma. I hear what your saying and agree with you.
my zillas ran short i think about a 1/4" on stock wheel i think i'm running 6 psi ish thread wears been good iv owned them for a good 4 yrs now but i don't ride every weekend maybe every other weekend in the summer for a few hrs. i always wished i went with 28" but i was worried about weight with no GR now i have the GR and i wish i went bigger
Are your 27s mounted on a 12 or 14 inch rim? I have heard all zillas on 14" rims measure true to size. I'm planning on mounting some 28x9 and 28x11 on my 2014 Foreman very soon.
Mine are mounted on 12" rims, and my zillas are a full inch short. They don't make a 28x9 or 28x11 zilla tire for a 12" wheel, so you may have to look into another tire if you want that size. Not sure what is offered for a 14" rim.
