Minnesota, RedTop ATV trails

I live in St.Cloud not to far from the South Soo line ATV trail.
A few years ago I took the South Soo Line from Roylton all the way up to and into Wis. spent the night and then came back the next day. Was a great long ride, but the old railroad grade didn't provide much of a challenge, even on my 84 200s ATC 3 wheeler.
Last fall I finely got a 4 wheeler, and well, I really want to use it.
I noticed that the South Soo Line ATV trail connects with an ATV park near Millacs Lake just on the other side of Onamia I think.
I was thinking, a good day trip might have us start on the South Soo Line north of Roylton, head up on the wheelers to the RedTop ATV park, play around in the woods there a bit, and then head back.
Anyway, I still have the 3 wheeler and I have a friend that is interested in going on one of these trips as well, but he would have to use my 3 wheeler in order to go. Having driven the South Soo Line trail I have no worries he can handle it, but I'm not sure how well a 3 wheeler will fare on the actual RedTop ATV trails.
Just wondering how many people here have actually explored the RedTop Park, what there thoughts of it are, and how difficult it might be for someone on a 3 wheeler?

Man that sounds like fun. We use to be able to ride and camp. But they shut that area down for over use.

Over use?!
That sucks, sound like they should have developed the area a little more rather then shut it down..

Well it was a orv park run by the state of N Carolina called Tellico. It was huge, They ran the Southeast region Jeep and Humvee Jambarees there. Some real diverse riding there. Thry said that the riding thru the creek and rivers was cousing the dirt to kill the trout in the waters down stream.

Ahh.. ok.. That I can understand then. I love trout! One of the reasons I have an ATV, to get back to the harder to find lakes with my fishing pole.

I didn't know about any trails near St.Augusta, can you tell me more about them?

I don't know much.about the trail I know on 75. I've just seen it from the road when I head over to st cloud. I haven't ever rode on any trails I've just used the machine on the property. But I recently acquired loading ramps so is like to go out... I've seen the trail from the Monticello nuke plant (don't know where it starts) and I just know it runs all the way to st. Augusta along 75 (don't know where it goes from there) and I think it runs by the river in clearwater Idk

Angry

I'm bummed.. I drove up to the South Soo line ATV trail access point and it's open, lots of people using it..
So then I drove up to the Red Top Atv park and found a sign that said it would be closed until May 15th.
I figured with the nice weather we had been having, and the fact the trails are pretty much dry, they would have opened it up, or at least have a plan to open it up earlier this year. This sucks, I don't want to wait 2 months to go exploring those trails.. I just got the new tires on and I want to see how they will run and.... Ahhh ****....
