2013 Foreman 500

Bike has been running fine but today left me afoot.
It has good fire as it will fire off with starter fluid but won't continue to run
full fuel tank, full oil level but just grinds away when hitting the starter
I am thinking not getting fuel and may be the fuel pump. Air filter is a little dirty but wont start even when it is removed
Anything else I might check?
It has been running fine for the past 6 months or so
Thanks

Check for dirty fuel filter or bad gas. Especially if you have been using gas with ethanol.

Can you hear the fuel pump cycle when you turn the key on?

I just went through the exact thing.
Had to replace the fuel pump on mine.

Is your fuel pump mounted in the top of the fuel tank?

The 12 and 13 has the sub fuel tank with the pump in it, 14 went to the in tank type pump.

Narrowed it down to the fuel pump I believe....
Sometimes it starts right up. Other times it just grinds away.... until I Tap on the fuel pump with a wrench..... Then starts right up
Bought a new fuel pump and will be changing it out shortly

Changing all fluids, filters including the air filter today as well

2500 miles on the bike but still in great shape except for this incident. First problem I have had with it

Thanks for the input from all who responded

Surprised that Honda did not install a valve from the bottom of the tank to the fuel pump.
Have to figure out how to drain the tank before proceeding
Unfortunately the tank is full

Needle nose pliers, hose clamp tools or anything to clamp the one big hose will do the trick.

Lisle 22850 Hose Pincher or similar tool is awesome. Radius edges won’t damage the hose.

If it has a filter/sock, that can get restricted and cause a fuel pump to overheat and cut out.

Thought about putting a drain in the bottom of the sub tank on my Rincon, as a handy drain, and a way to dump any sediment or water.

Got it changed out. Running great now
Used vice grips with a rag wrapped around the hose to clamp it off
Took me about 10 minutes to make the change!
Thanks for all the help
