2005 Foreman Carburator issues.

Old reliable would not start this year so after pulling the carb found it had a little build up in the carb. Pulled it apart and soaked it untill clean and reassembled. She idles and runs fine but has no top end speed, rpm's don't come up. What am I missing here, any help is greatly appreciated.

You probably didn't get it clean enough.


Pull it again, soak in Berrymans, then blow out all passages with compressed air and reassemble.


Make sure the slide boot is positioned properly and doesn't have any holes in it.

Thank you! I was second guessing my sock time of 7 hrs. I will give it another shot and post the out come. Thank you again.

You may want to take out the (I guess it's a jet) in the middle of the carburetor under the bowl and blow it out. It has a very small hole clearance. It's the one with the slotted screwdriver slot and if I remember correctly, it's made out of brass and pretty tight. Get a flathead with a good fit and be careful as with brass, it will break on you and sometimes you only get one chance.

Always take the carb completely apart before you clean it, and blow out all of the carb passages and the jets before you reinstall them.
