Angry 2004 Honda Foreman 450 FM 4x 4 problems

Hello,
I am a NEWBIE here.
I have a 2004 Honda Foreman 450 FM.My 4WD is not working?
I hear a very clear click when I flip the switch.
Today I jacked it up front and rear.Tore off the entire front end to get to the plugs and wiring etc.I cleaned and inspected all the plugs and connectors. When I started it back up(still jacked up off the floor of the shop Put it in 4WD heard the click as usual.I put it in 3rd. or 4th. gear and applied some gas.The front tires were not turning at all.I then revved the engine up to about 3/4s and all of a sudden the front end engaged and the tires started to spin. But only after applying 3/4 gas in 3rd or 4 th. gear?
I did the process two or three times and got the same results.I am baffled at this point!! Could it be a sensor or something not activating until I apply a lot of throttle?
ANY HELP would be GREATLY appreciated at this point...

THANKS A BUNCH in advance for any ideas.

At 3/4 throttle maybe then the stator is putting enough juice to the system, engaging the 4wd but the 4wd light would be blinking until it engages. Did that make sense lol.

makes sense in my ears, but with a brand new battery and no flashing makes it kinda odd....im stumped

is there a magnet or somthing in the front diff or in the trans/transfer case that engages the 4x4....i know a gmc pickup does......if so week magnet or ?????

Hi rich450es,

I finally got all the connectors checked out ,cleaned and reinstalled today.
After taking the quad out in the front yard and running up against a large rock in 4WD.After the attempt I am now(not before cleaning connectors)getting a flash code on the dash.It is blinking 5 times and in the manual is states that the probable problem might be a faulty FCC unit?

Any thoughts.
I DID re-check the FCC connector and it was locked into place as it should be.

I have an 04 foreman 450. How can I match the Vin with the motor Id. I took the whole wiring harness off, dielectric greased everything, and put it back on before and after I took it off. The rear speed sensor isn't hooked up, before and after. The bike won't crank and flashes no codes. Also blowing back out the carburetor.
