Carb overflow

Carb overflow is taking in water, should I plug it or run a line up to my snorkel?

Garage
Put in a one way check valve. Allows gas to flow out, but nothing to flow in from the bottom.

If you plug it and your float sticks you end up with a crankcase full of gas/diluted oil and ruin your engine.
