Foreman 450 S shifting problem

Good afternoon all.

I am new to the forum and the ATV world in general. I have rode friends ATVís and such before but I am in the process of buying my first, a foreman 450 S. I am good friends with the seller and he has warned me ahead of time that the ATV runs great aside from a shifting issue. He says it can be difficulty to shift gears at lower RPMís and that he generally has to run up the RPMís to shift gears.
I was just wondering if anyone has had this issue before and if so how difficult it is to correct.

Thanks

Most shifting issues can usually be found under the front engine cover. It could be as simple as it just needs adjusted, more complex but cheap the the shift drum bolt is working loose or a little money and it has a cracked shift plate. That's the common things on that model.
