Dipstick stuck

Just bought a 2000 foreman 450es from the original owner. Really clean and good shape, everything works. Just now noticed the dipstick wonít unscrew. The top you grab ahold to will barely turn to the left but it just wonít budge. Kinda like itís cross threaded or gaulded in there somehow. What tricks do you guys know to get it loose and out?

You don't have a lot of options here. I'd start with soaking it with some PB Blaster for a bit. Then use some vise grips to turn it back and fourth to try and break it lose.
If it's cross threaded you are going to just have to use some force to unscrew it and hope it didn't mess up the case.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve heard of melting candle wax around and hope it sinks down into it. Don’t won’t any heat on it though. Should I be to still buy this at the Honda dealer? Or possibly off it eBay. Would you know the correct length of It?

Yes dealer will have them or various online resources for about $15 - $20.

Part # for the dipstick: 15650-HM7-000

Part # for the o-ring: 91307-KF0-003

I would avoid heating anything. If it were mine I'd give it a few good soaks with Kroil and work it back and forth a little at a time. They are tight to get loose even when they are in good shape. If there's the slightest amount of galling it's going to be tough sledding until the first full 2 -3 threads are up. You'll probably fubar the top of the dipstick handle up with pliers, but no biggie if you're replacing it. Let us know how it goes.
