Temp

What’s a good running temp? Ran bike for around 1 hour and it was running about 200 degrees. Does that sound acceptable?

Assuming you don't have a temp gauge built in-
How did you measure it?
Where did you measure it?
What was the ambient?

I measured with a thermostat I had laying around in shop and put it in where the dipstick is.

3rd question is very relevant too. V8's run at about 180 with radiators so logically it sounds about good to me for an air cooled engine if that is what you have. May be a little help if you put the model and year in there. How about the fan, does it come on? Temp light come on?
I have an infared gun so I'll shoot it at the head after a ride when I get home for ya.

I have a 99 honda foreman 450ES. The temp light comes on for 20 minutes at least as soon as you crank it up so that makes me think the sensor is bad. Ordered new one today. And yes, fan does come on.
