oil leak

I went out mud ridding yesterday. After a while ridding I saw oil on my left rear wheel and notices of course it was coming from my axle. I checked this and it looks like it has been leaking all might. The oil has to be coming from my rear diff right ? Wanted to know if its a bad deal or what else.

I had the same happen on mine before the irs. I never fixes it but when i tore the diff out you can tell the seal on the diff was leaking and the seal on the axle tube was leaking.

If I look around diff I don't see any oil. Only around the hub but you never know. Is the axle seal the same seal as the one in the front axle because I have some of them or the same seal the rear break drum has from deleteing my break. Just asking so if they are I won't have to order one. Ill change acke seal first to see if that's the only thing.

I'm stubbern so ill check it out anyway. Not saying I don't belive you. It won't be bad for my axle or diff if I go ridding before I fix the problem ? Just make sure diff has enough oil right ?

what yr and model atv are you talking about
I have sen some that had oil blow out of vents and such and leak into axle tube and leak out on ends?
so doesn;'t always mean its a diff leaking gear oil?
but more info on yr and model atv will get you better advice !

What vents are you talking about. Air vent line ? I only see leaking out of rear left hub. I deleted my rear break so I can't really tell if its leaking there. Doesnt look like it is

I just realized today that the day I went ridding last week I changed my rear diff oil. I filled it to the top and today I checked the fill bolt and some oil ran out for like 5 seconds. Before I checked it I saw that it wasn't leaking out my left side axle tube. I just wanna know if it was only leaking because of I over filled and if that tore up my seals.

Oil was running out the fill hole??? If so, heck yeah you got wayyyy too much oil in there. There's a level plug on the side of the diff........

I'd at a minimum pull the left axle tube and replace the seal and then replace the bearing and outer seal at the hub while it's off.
