I have an 06 Rubicon and there is a knocking noise. My guess would be the main crank bearings so I tried to look them up and it looks like you can't buy just bearings, you have to buy the whole crankshaft and rod assembely... WOW $400!!!

Is there any way around this?

Also Its a loud knocking noise and it sounds like it is coming from the bottom. I haven't adjusted the valves yet so I need to try that but am pretty sure that the noise is not the valves. The valves are more of a ticking noise.

Another problem with it is it smokes pretty good. If I rev it up to about 3/4 throttle it will not burn anymore and run clean. Then if I rev it down to about half throttle it will sputter like its miss firing and start burning oil again. Then when I rev it up more it will clear out. Could it all just maybe valves? It has 1xx hrs on it so not that many...

Any help would be great.
