Really helps to have the IT manual to track down issues with the Rubicon. It also pays to invest in a good multimeter and when it calls for a special test connector fork out the bucks to buy the test connector, saves money in the long run.
In the last 13 months I have replaced the ECM, and speed sensor. In the process of tracking down the speed sensor issue I purchased a new meter for my '03 Rubi. I had the new meter on for less than five minutes, long enough to determine that I was getting the same issue as with the old meter. Put the old meter back on, went to ebay and bought a new speed sensor for $14.99 and the issue was resolved. Now have a $200 meter display in the original Honda box with zero miles on it sitting in the garage, unlikely to ever be used.
