I just purchased a cdi box off ebay, hooked it up and it will crank, hit and then die. It just won't quite stay running, but if I put the old faulty one back on it will run, until I hit a bump and it dies again that is. Paid $125 for it hopefully it is not junk. The part numbers are gone off the old one. But I believe my quad is the 5 wire foreman and the Part number for the new one is 30410-HA7-751. Is there more than One cdi box for the 5 wire 87 350? Any help would be awesome. Just trying to get this old girl going.

On the connector of the CDI there should be some letter/numbers. You want those to match. The Fourtrax and Foreman take different CDI's but if it runs until you hit a bump that sounds like a loose wire at a connector.

The connector says HA7 c1537. As far as a loose connection I'm not sure, because the plug was cut off and now has female terminal connectors on the pins. They fit nice and snug on there, but when I go to start it, if I tap on the box, then and only then will it start. On the new one it will try and start right away. Need to find a plug off an old wiring harness and delete the Mickey Mouse wiring set-up.
