Hi everyone,
my father has a 1986-1987 trx350 foreman. shortly after he bought it, when started cold the bike motor would rev high untill it came up to temprature.
The bike has sat for a couple months so after installing a new one way clutch, we started it and the idle went sky high and will not come down by its self. Also using the coke did not change the sound or how the eninge ran
I removed the carb cleaned the jets and passage ways. reinstalled. same problem. sprayed the rubber peice between the carb and engine, looking for air leaks nothing found. tryed adjusting the idle screw to manual spec
The only thing that makes the idle go down is if you cover the intake side of the carb or air cleaner with a rag. then the idel will come down..
any ideas?

Sounds kinda like a vacuum leak to me !!!

does that model have a elictric fuel pump ? if so what preasure is the fuel pump putting out?

it does have a electric stock pump. im not sure what the pressure is

im just wondering if it has too much fuel preasure and its forcing the fuel past the needle and seat in the carb . i wish i had a manual for you .....sorry
pm toodeep about this problem he knows these older mechines better

your cable isn't stuck is it ???!

idont beleive. i took the top off the carb, hit the gas and watched the needle go up and down. so i think the cable is fune

K maybe rich is on to some thing than ,mmmm Do you have a way to check the psi then??!!

no i dont. i know it starts then stops and starts again like it should, but i dont have a way to messure the pressure

Dumb question but dose it have an in line filter on it and if it dose whens the last time you changed it ???!!
