Fourtrax Bigred rear end Mod!!!

So on my fourtrax both hubs are b!tched(missing a stud too). Had to do a rear brake delete because they we siezed. And the rear seals have gone to sh!t. So I got my money out of the rear axles lol.

For a $100 I bought a 1984 honda 250 BigRed rear end. So i am in the process of swaping them out this is how far I am in 45 min. but i have to milk the cows now.

sorry for the first wrong pic

I have a 350 rear end in mine, it's worth doing which ever rear end you use.

2007 420FM (475cc, 27x12x12 Mudbugs) ---------- 1995 300FW (webcamshaft, 350 rear end)
2008 420FE (26x9x12 BearClaws) -------------------
1988 300 (old stock machine, nothing fancy)
2009 420FA (25x8/10x12 BearClaw HTR) ---------
1987 350D (work in progress)

What is the advantage of doing this mod?

The 300 differential is wide open and prone to get water into it (open axle). The 350/250 rear end has the housing that goes out to the hubs and does a lot better job at keeping water out. The rear final drive is the weak link on the 300 and this mod just makes it that more bullet proof.

I think any of the '86-'89 Fourtrax/Foreman 350 rear ends will work. Also, the '85-'87 Fourtrax 250 2wd rear end will work.

2000 Foreman 400
2004 Grizzly 660
Both stock, except for Mudlites and Kimpex rear storage box.

great to her all the talk on this. I did consider the 350 rear end. But My hubs where toast and no brakes with a gernaded bearing. Figured the Big red would be nicer because the brakes are out of the line of fire. Moved over into the rim.

The Big Red rear end is probably just as good. Any kind that has the full length axle tubes has to be better than the Fourtrax 300 rear end.
