Default New Foreman 500 FE (ES) owner here!

My 2003 Kawasaki Prairie 360 4X4 let me down this past Saturday heading to my deer stand for opening day of deer season here in Arkansas - tripped belt light (belt never been replaced since purchase in late 2002). Found that intake manifold (why do they make them of plastic?) was cracked, front propeller shaft boot torn, and on and on...

Traded for a brand new 2009 Honda Foreman 500 ES Saturday afternoon and was in the woods in time to get a hunt in!

So far, I like it - BUT - either it is very cold natured (starts easily and usually on first tap of starter), but wants to stumble all over itself for quite a while, even after warming up for 5+ minutes. Idle was set a bit below optimum, but that was easy to adjust. Hoping that it smooths out with the break-in.

lol. well, i don't think it gets much better as time passes. every honda that i've ever dealt with was cold natured. they gotta be choked for a few minutes. but i wouldn't have it any other way...i love a honda atv! also, i've heard of brand new hondas having the wrong carburetor jets installed from the dealership. there are certain jets for specific altitudes.

Well... I got her warmed up well, and put in Neutral - and she sputtered and died. So I pulled the side plastic and made a very small adjustment to the idle. Cranked her back up - and no more "choke and die".

Still a few sputters when cold, but after warm - seems well.
