2006 Recon ignition pulse generator system

I have a 2006 honda recon es. The first gear blinked 10 times and according to the code book the ignition pulse generator system was the problem. When I drove my ATV for a while, the 1st gear indicator blinked and I couldn't shift unless I rapidly turned the key off and on again. I was wondering what that meant and were that part was located on my ATV. I have no idea what an ignition pulse generator system. Help me please!!!!!!!

Yes, the battery is fully charged and it's is only about 6 months old. What function does that part do? and how do I make the gear indicator stop flashing and my atv start shifting?
