Default 2011 recon 250 es....good for hunting ???

I am thinking of buying a new 2011 Recon 250 ES for hunting. I am primarily going to use this atv for hunting but will ride it occasionally for fun. How good would this 4 wheeler be for hunting and the occasional ride. I am concerned about the power to drag deer out of the woods. Let me know what you think....

Thanks , Eddie

hay eddie with the recon being only a 2x4 i dont know how much pulling power it is going to have ......you may be happier with a 4x4 rancher or a foreman (pluss the rancher and foreman can carry more weight on the racks ).......rich

I'm with rich on this one I'd use the $ from a 2011 recon and buy a used Rancher or Foreman 4x4. You will go so much further with a 4x4. I had a 1997 recon I loved it but 4x4 was so much better.

I guess it would depend on where you hunt.... A 4x4 with a winch is my favorite choice for go'n WAY outback but if you can ride trails to your stand/spot a 2x4 will no doubt be fine.

like martdog said it depends on where you go and if its muddy. If your riding dirt roads and dry trails you'll be happy with a recon.

I have a 2004 Rancher and a 2003 Recon. The Rancher I ride 95% of the time. The recon was for my wife but she will not go with us ofter so it is an extra quad for anyone who wants to go with. I will tell ya that I think both are very good for what you are planning to do. Just traveling down and trail parking and going the last little bit to your spot the recon will be good.
I think the Rancher is more comfortable for a day full of riding, but I can ride a full day on the Recon as well. The Recon is much lighter and is a blast to fly around on.
Both are HONDAS and will last you for many years to come.
Let us know what you decide.
