Default Recon Sputtering question???

I have just recently tried staring my recon after a few months. Its starts fine now but when i get it to high RPM's it starts sputtering. I can pull the choke ever so slightly and it then runs smooth, but as soon as i let the choke go it sputters. This happens only at the high RPM's. I even rode it around to let it get warmed up and still the same thing happens. I thought about changing the spark plug first before getting into the carb, fuel/air mix. Do any of you have suggestions.

Could try dumping some seafoam in the tank but it sounds like you need a carb cleaning. If your gonna leave it sit that long again try using stabil in the gas it works wonders.

Cleaning the carb is a good idea like Kipes has suggested. Also check your air cleaner and air cleaner box. Some critters might have decided to take up residence in there.
