Default Thinking of buying an 02 Recon

Hello all, new here. I have a friend who has an 02 Recon (non-EX) and it is like new. He has bareley driven it and it's been sitting in his shed most of the time with an occassional use. Anyway he'd sell it for $1500 which I thought was a good price considering it looks new. In fact the tires still have the new black nobby things on them.

I plan to use it to plow our driveway of 200'. I know a 4wd is best at this but also hear with some rear weight the Recon does pretty well at plowing. Also I'd use it on occasion to pull a lawn aerator and dump cart, basic work around the house etc...

Think this ATV will suit my needs ok? As far as plowing it looks like I need: push tubes, mounting kit, and a blade along with a winch and winch mount. Right?

better off saving your 1500 and getting a foreman 450. 1500 for a recon i think is alot for a little machine. i dont think they even make a plow set up for them

i think 1500 is a decent deal for a recon. good little atv's. but, spend another 750 bucks(or 1000) and you can get a 4wd of the same model year, with a larger engine, better suited for plowing...as for the other chores, the recon would be ideal.

Thanks. Yeah I've seen some plows with Internet searching but looks like after all the stuff I'd need I'd be spending $400 plus which can buy a decent snowblower. But it would be handy around the house and playing in the dirt.

4WD would be best, but I'm sure you can plow with it if you get some weight and chains, did it for years with a lawnmower. Just had to go downhill lol!

Yeah I've read they do a surprisingly good job with weight on the back and chains. Plow setup seems to be pricey though unless I make one DIY style which many people seem to do. But a lot of work I imagine.

Yeah, that really could kill the deal right there. Could probably find a 4wd with plow on craigslist for $2000 if you're patient.
