Default Valve adjuster pushed out of top end...?

Hi everyone.. I was riding my 2002 Honda Recon ES today and it was running perfectly fine. We've known for a little while that the valves had been slightly chattering and needed adjusted but havent had the time to do it.. I attempted to do it yesterday but I couldnt get the flat head valve adjuster to turn at all... im not sure why it wouldnt.. but anyway I put everything back together and when I was riding today the motor started making this wierd sound and quit.. I looked to find that the flat head screw adjuster for the valves came all the way out and the atv will no longer run/start. I have no idea what happened or how to fix this and was wondering if anyone could tell me?...

Thanks a lot!

welcome to the foruim
are the adjustment screws and jam nuts still in the top of the cylindar head or did thay fall down in the motor?
if you got them just screw them back in and adjust the valves to spec

Im not sure if they fell in or not, I am going to take it apart in a little bit and check and I will let you know.

I see, well I will make sure to do that if everything is still there, thanks a lot!

And thank you!
