that is the exact same problem my rancher had when I bought it. The origional owner let it sit up for 9 months before he sold it. It would run perfect, but when you let off the gas it died.

One good carb. cleaning job and it will be fine...

Well, it ended up being something totally different. Went to take the carb off and decided to check the throttle cable before hand. The darn thing wasnt even tight. Which is what was killing the engine. Tightened it up, got the idle where it's supposed to be and now it runs like a beauty.
