Default Recon winch install.

I was thinking of installing a winch on my 2007 Recon trx 250 But looks like that may be kind of complicated.
Any one have photos or info about the installation.
Thanks.

I just removed a winch from my 2006 recon to put it on my rancher. I picked up the plate from cabelas for around $50. It was really simple to do. It looks like a lot of wiring but it is so simple. You have a positive from the battery to the contactor. Then 2 wires to the winch. Finally you have the 2 wires that are together for the switch. I currently have mine hooked up to the battery but I might find where to hook it up so the key must be on. Just make sure you zip tie the wires to the frame away from exhaust and moving parts and you will be fine.

I just installed a Warn XT30 on my 2009 Rubicon. It was a little more work that I expected but the instructions from Warn were pretty well done. No matter what winch you get I would just strongly recommend that you read the instructions first and go over your ATV while looking at the instructions so that you are familiar with where everything will be. Sometime things in writing are not as clear as looking at the actual part or maybe you have added other items to your ATV that the instructions do not account for. Also make sure that you have all the tools you will need before you start, from all my experiences nothing is more frustrating than getting started and then realizing that you need a special tool or don’t have what you need.

I am very certain that if you run into trouble you could post something here on the forum and someone will be able to help you out.

Good Luck!
