Replacing rear brakes on Recon - Honda Foreman Forums : Rubicon, Rincon, Rancher and Recon Forum

Looking to replace rear brake shoes on a 2003 Recon and the service manual calls for two 41mm wrenches to remove the axle nuts. All I could find is a 1 5/8" which would likely work but is $78!!! What does everyone else do, use a pipewrench, take it to the dealer?

Big crescent wrench or pipe wrench will work.

Got the brakes apart and shoes replaced last night, they were full of slimy mud from the previous owner. What a stinking mess! Ended up using a couple older pipewreches that had well worn jaws so they hardly left a mark.
