I just purchased a new Recon 2 days ago from my local dealer. While riding it the first day it cut off on me while I was decelerating from 3rd gear to neutral. Would not crank for 30 minutes....once it cranked I had to hold the choke open to get it back to my shop. Let it set for an hour then my son drove it the rest of the afternoon with no problems till it cut off on him before dark. Next morning it will not crank at all...press the starter button and it is trying but it aint turning over. Any ideas?? There is gas in it (from dealer when purchased) and gas is in on position. Thanks for reading.
OK have you tried opening the gas cap when trying to start, as might be getting vapor loc
Other wise I say your having an issue and would be back at that Honda dealer, a new ATV should be problem free for a long time
you can also check to see if there is a inline fuel filter that is maybe blocked too
Good luck
Have you tried it with the fuel valve in both the "ON" and "RESERVE" positions? It defiantly sounds like it isn't getting enough fuel flow to the carb. Maybe a little piece of plastic in the tank from manufacturing is blocking one of the outlets?
odds are if this is a 2014, it sat in dealer with that 2014 fuel in it all these yrs
I would personally drain fuel and try new fuel before going back to the dealer, its simple and fast, and odds are HIGH its the issue?
as unless dealer is honoring a 2 yr old warranty,(yes I know he bought it new recently), they might NOT cover things and he could end up with a bill, for something he could have solved on his own??
Just saying/
