Default Rincon Break-in

Hey guys i jus did a complete rebuild including new crank and bearings, piston, rings, cylinder, cam chain... Pretty much the works... What kind of break in procedure would u guys recommend? I've heard some people say crank it and ride it like you stole it and also heard take it easy for a hundred miles or so.. What you guys think? I wanna do it right.. Thanks!

for over 25 years i have done it like this
start it and go for a little ride (1/2 hour) going threw all the gears but never going wide open on the gas then stop and let it idel for 5 mins then shut it off and let it sit for atleast 6 hours. then check all your fluids and go for a 1 hour ride and this time ride it a little harder but no wide open throutle then shut it down and let it sit for another 6 hrs and thats it all broken in .but thats just me

Im a fan of ride it like you stole it with a 4-stroke engine, 2 strokes require an extensive break in.

Rich's break in method looks about right. Even when I break in a 4 stroke I never out and out kill it but I ride it normal for a day or so. I dont do anything technical like he said but it is better safe than sorry...... and yes it would definitely be a good thing to check your fluids.

HAHA true, you have to take care of your investment for sure.

My pap always told me that if you ever buy a brand new car beat the hel.l out of it. Cause if it breaks its under warrenty and if it still runs like a top it will continue to do so.

I just asume ride it like I normally would...... but for something not under warrenty yes you want to take a little more care with it.

Honda's Recommend Breaking Is: For the first 100 miles avoid high RPMs. Vary your speed and RPMs, and avoid long hard work cycles - such as going up long hills in a higher gear.
