Default Rincon vs. Grizzly - Transmission Question

Hi Guys,

I'm new here and am looking for some feedback related to the Rincon transmission vs. a Grizzly.

I'm looking at purchasing a rig and considering the Rincon. I currently have a Kodiak (auto) and a Rancher (manual).

My question is this: when in manual, is the 1st gear on the Rincon slower than the Grizzly when the Grizz is in low? Also, what about torque when Rincon is in first gear, Grizz in low?

Thanks for any feedback...

because it relates directly to how useful the machine will be under a heavy load or rock crawling etc.

the answer is that in low range the grizz is geared much lower.
the rinnies tranny and lack of low range is the only aspect to the machine I find much fault with. it was a dealbreaker for me when I was looking to buy...

The primary use of the machine will be on tight, winding, uneven, rocky mountain trails that are very steep.

My '98 Rancher is fantastic in this environment and will go up anything in 1st or 2nd gear. I'm looking for a larger size and would also like something that has IRS.

Wow, you hit the nail on the head regarding the purpose of my question.

I'm surprised to hear you say that as I was hoping that with the Rincon's 3 speed, first would be geared lower and have lower torque than the Grizzly in low.

Even coming down the mountains, my 2000 Kodiak in low requires me to be on the brake's which I was hoping would be less so with the Rincon.

I agree. The Grizzly is geared lower. Also, you can use shims to change the gearing of the Grizzly and gear it even lower.
