There are many consumer laws that could come into play here: federal magnuson-moss warranty act(1975), State Lemon Laws(Will vary state to state) IF one was really worried that an Oil would Void there warranty. They should have it done at ANY dealership, Joe blows Shop and KEEP the it documented When, where and how many miles/hours where on it when the oil was changed. These things should be standard operating procedure with anything that has a Warranty!!! A Lack of Documentation will not show how you up keep your end of the warranty, to properly maintain for the warranted item in question. Quote:
If your Ride is under Warranty, Read your warranty paper work in regards to up keep and repairs. 2nd Talk to the dealership that does your warranty work. 3rd document all Oil Changes and repairs. Keep them organized and ready regardless of what oil you use! This Topic has been beating to death on EVER Car/Truck/Power Sport Forum I have EVER Read. "Brand X oil Vs. Brand Y Oil"

I do have the dealer change it
he lives right down the road....and its freeI go by spec on everything cause my machines in the shop for every little thing (4yr warrenty) so I take advantage of it. I wouldnt have a problem with anything if it came down to it cause I know everyone there. Honestly this is just a p!ssing match,....Honestly out of all of our machines, how many have blown a motor...... Its a honda. These things were made so they could run on chicken greese and squirrel blood. It doesnt matter really what oil you run in it. With my rubicon I know gn4 is the best (hondamatic) so thats what I run.... Ill probably have the machine forever so Im going by what my buddys tell me. Theyve seen it all when it comes to these things cause they see it everyday. Ya know what I mean. Last edited by h22ate; 12-04-2010 at 12:00 AM. |

I too swear by amsoil, but use valvoline ATV oil in my Rubi because it meets all the specs in the user manual and is easier to come by. Us whatever brand you want as long as it meets the specs in the manual, and warranty will not be effected.

Not only use it in everything since 1975, been selling it since 1978. My 2006 Rincon got AMSOIL Motorcycle 10W-30 at about 25 miles. Now has 2,500 miles and not a problem, never needed to add oil and change it once a year.
AMSOIL Catalog you can download

Began to use Amsoil 0W40 for my third oil change on my 2010 Rincon. (2200 km.)
The tranny at first, shift better than GN4. But on my first ride of 100 km, I noticed transmission sliperage twice when I accelerate hard. :'( This has never happened before. |
