New owner of 2004 Rincon. Have attempted to activate the GPS with no success. Only indication is that the letters GPS (GPS Mark) blinks continuously. I've waited the for over 10 minutes for something to happen with no change. Followed the Owner's Manual guidance re disconnecting the battery (- cable) for a minute and reconnecting. No change.
I've moved to a very clear location, i.e., outside, no trees or other obstacles with no effect. Book says if this symptom occurs (the blinking "GPS") I'm to take to Honda dealer to check and restore the system. Thought someone else might have encountered and solved this problem without dealer intervention. Any reset buttons on the unit? Appreciate any help. |

Have you ever gave it longer than 10 min? Some systems if not used for a long time (months) have to download all the latest almanacs and sometimes it can take a while especailly with units that do not have a lot of memory.
I would ride it around for while (hours) and then see if it starts working normally before going to the dealer. I used to have an old hand held that would behave like this if I did not use it for say 6 months. Often is just took time because of the limitations of the receiver.
