Default i'm removing my camo, question for the ones that have.

after getting abut 90% of the camo off there are a few dark "speckles" left on the plastic.

for the ones that have, what is safe to use on the plastic to remove those dark spots that won't harm the plastic? it's not to many but if i'm going to strip in down i want it perfect.

It only seems to hapen where the more dark colors were in the camo loke the black. My 4000PSI pressure washer won't touch them.

what's a safe chemical to use to get all 100% of it off including where the fectory decals were as those area seem to be the hardest to remove.

Honda cor and my dealer have noth given me to kick to the curb effect on replaceing so i just decided to go tan.

Hey I did the same thing with my 2007. Exact same thing happened to me. The pressure washer took off almost all of the camo. I peeled of all decals to make it look as good as possible (as I think you did too). I replaced all decals from the dealer. I had the same trouble under the labels and truthfully could not take all the colour right off. I tried a number of products and found that " Asatone" which you can get almost anywhere worked the best with a good rag. Tried wifey's nail polish remover and it also worked ok, but I just laid the new decals right over the old spots. Not real happy with the way it looks ,but better than peeling chit camo. Plus I have a good feeling it will really hurt the resale value.

Post up a pic when your done.

i'm not as worried about what is/was under the factory decals the problem I'm having is there are some small areas that where the camo was black it has left small spots that just don't want to come of easily. i havn't tried any chemicals yet. I've thought about goo gone, some type of decal remover or something I just don't want to dull the tan because i'm kind of liking the shiny tan.

Here's some crappy phone pics i took this morning, you can see some areas not where the stock decals were that show the small spots i'm taking about.....

on the subject of most not being able to get what's under the decals off easily.........that tell me that even UV from the sun has caused issues to to camo making it easily to peel off everywhere else.

Yeah I think so. Mine looked just like yours with the black spots under the dark sections. Its a real pain in the ass job, but I like you wanted it to look proper. A little time and elbow grease it will come off. One trick I also found was when using a chemical use a real tough rag (like an old bath towel or something thick). I didnt like how you can never get rid of the camo inside the inner front fenders or under seat too.

I would try the Goo Gone or the stuff that vehicle undercoaters use to clean up the over spray would work great. The place I get it from is Ziebarts.

I did try Goo Gone, didn't even touch it. Its real tough stuff. Trust me on the Asetone or nail polish remover. Didnt dull the plastic at all.

Have you tried WD-40? It is fish oil based, but it will take most anything off.
