Need to install a front diff lock on my 680 rincon. Anyone have done this on a rinny? and if so where and what brand to buy?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You're already ahead of the game then, it shouldnt be a problem for you at all.

After much research I have decided to go with a gear reduction. I have heard many bad things about locking the front diff. Saw a video that shows you don't need a locker.

With a diff locker, wouldn't you have to come to a complete stop to lock it in....... no more shift on the fly...

the DGL locks when conditions dictate... not when the rider flips a switch. install it and forget it. this is a mod Ive got on my back burner for the moment. anyone have any idea how the detroit unit stands up?

Well if its anything like their automotive products it will last just as long as the honda you're putting it in. Detroit had always made top notch products for the automotive industry I dont see their ATV line being any different.

I think dirty has been running one for quite a few years now, maybe he'll chime in on it. We have one member with it installed but he doesn't ride enough for a good report.

I have one in my bike and its shift on the fly the DGL is supposed to lock up when throttle is applied thus making it easier to turn. Well I dont find it easy to turn at all, you can tell that sucker is locked when you hit the switch. Turning in a tight trail impossible, going where you want it to go in mud impossible, letting your kid or old lady drive around in 4x4 again impossible. Tell you what at the end of the day your one tired MF'er. As far as the locker its tough, but i dont recommmend pulling anything in reverse, I did alot of pulling in forward no problem, in reverse I broke my ring gears, locker and gear reduction is too muck for it to handle.
