Honda doesnt have a true 4wd locker from the factory so yes its umm 3wd. read the previous posts and you'll have a few opinions on its ridability with a locker...

just because it doesn't have a diff lock, doesn't make it a 3wd.

well if it can only apply power to 3 wheels at any given time... that makes it 3wd in my books. hondas marketing team would no doubt like us to believe otherwise.

Im not complaining too much though because unless they can figure out how to do it without sacraficing the reliability, I would prefer they leave things as is... its better to have to winch out of a mudhole and then be able to ride home with my driveline intact

honda doesn't offer a locker but after owning a few you learn the tricks. If you need to lock the front in you can grab the front brake lever and squeeze it lightly and both tires will engage and it works just as good as a locker, the only down fall is you have to keep holding the lever till your out
