Yes its going to be hard to turn in 4wd but the idea of it is so you can still turn it when 4wd is not in. Or is that what you are saying its still hard to turn with 4wd off?

Why do I feel like Honda choosing the limited slip diff over the locker has something (or alot) to do with why it doesn't have power steering.

Speaking of Detroit lockers, I have a 3.73 Detroit locker that has been on my 1992 Silverado 4x4 truck since it was fairly new and I have just under 300,000 miles on it. Although my tranny has had it, and my engine about the same, the rear end is still strong as ****. About 8 years ago it was even ran around town a little while without grease, had a leak and didn't notice it at first. I even pulled a few cars out of the ditches last year and a tree or two after all the storms.

No not at all you can tell its a little stiffer than a stock bike but 2x4 is pretty normal.

This listing says 03-08 650? They didnt make a 650 in 07 but here is the HL link anyhow

http://www.highlifter.com/product.php?pk=7184&pname=

My buddy (honda tech) has done a bunch of these and said its pretty easy. But thats his word so I dont know your mechanical knowlage, but it would be done without a problem in your local shop!
I didn't catch this the first time I looked at that page
Did yall look at the applications listed on their site? Boy HL needs to be a little more clear about its specific applications.
Seems like HL also isn't sure about what it will work on

APPLICATIONS:
350 RANCHER 2004-2006
400 RANCHER 2004-2006
420 RANCHER SRA 2007-2009
420 RANCHER IRS 2009
450 FOREMAN 2004
500 FOREMAN 2005-2008
500 RUBICON 2004-2008
650 RINCON 2003-2008<---- Wha??

seems a little contradictive in it self........ and if that application really works on 06s-08s then why wouldn't they say through 09s or 10s? I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I believe that the reason the service manuals are 2006 and up is because they are virtually the same... and why wouldnt they just put 650/680. That sure makes it confusing!

Starting to toy with the idea that I would like to try a locker too.... i dunno

Yea their page can get a lil confusing at times. They have tons of stuff listed for the foreman but not for the ruby. I called them about a couple things and they said "yea it'll work". They need to update their site, I bet they would make alot more sells if they were more clear with their listings

I know thats right! Me personally, when I an web shopping, if I see stuff like that, I just close that window and go to another site! I always felt that I would rather pay 5 or even 10% morre if I thought I could avoid a hassle.....
