Default Rincon Transmission (Poll)

Very simple, do you like the three-speed transmission? Why or why not?

I don't own a Rincon but I've ridden my friends a couple times and I didn't like the way it downshifted when slowing down, very harsh. Also it seemd geared too high for me.However I was very pleased with the ride comfort and it had plenty of power.
I think the Rincon needs a LOW range like the old Honda 3 wheelers used to have.(just a simple lever on the side of the engine to shift between HIGH and LOW range)

I like it, would like one lower and one higher gear though, or even a low range would be nice. Or or or maybe even a 6 speed manual w/ a clutch! WOOOT

I use the "esp" shift on the left hand grip to control downhill shifts. You are right, the automatic mode is a bit harsh and not always when you want it, even after you've "mastered it" while going downhill.

This is not really a problem as you can flick it into the manual mode without taking your hand off the right grip.

I do like the automatic as all the controls are in your hands.

One wonders about the quality of posts on this site. One asks oneself, does this person actually own a Honda? Are they spinning for purposes of denigrating Honda's success? No way to tell, other than to ask for a VIN number.

One wonders.

Do I own one? = NO Have I rode them? = YES Do I work on Honda's everyday? = YES

There is nothing wrong with the transmission, automotive style been around for many, many years very dependable.

The problem is the R&D at Honda. They should have put a high/low range in them even with there main purpose of being a trail machine.

Yes I agree, a 680 with a manual transmission would be awesome.

I would love to, but they have problems with overheating and anyone that hits mud like I do does not need any help with that.lol
I actually want the turner 802 stroker kit but I would rather wait till honda comes out with a v-twin until then my wife will have to wait to get the rincon.
