People seem to thing that the wire will "jump" all over the place when using a bigger tip too,..... never happened to me. |

i got that 125hd lincoln electric makes, but of course it broke and now its in georgia gettin fixed under warranty and as soon as i get it back im getting that gas kit installed on it. flux cored wire makes ur welds look unprofessional.

On the job I weld .045 flux core all the time but it still gets sheilded with 100% argon. So it makes just as pretty of a weld. |

Spoken like a true welder h22ate but a reminder, welds dont have to look pretty ya know, just so long as they do their job. And boy are mine pretty, lol.

I bought my Lincoln migpak 100 about 6 years ago and being a cheapskate, I thought heck with the gas I dont need it!
Boy was I wrong! I went a few months trying to learn how to weld on an old 65 mustang rear trunk lid and was really disapointed with the burn thrus and crappy spattery looking welds and almost gave up on trying to learn how to weld. Then one of my buddies who does welding in a local weld shop stop by my garage one night and I was showing him my welder and telling him how bad I suck at using it etc. He told me that if I switch my machine over to gas I will see night and day difference and he was right, cause after doing so I fell in love with it! Ive welded complete firewall and floor pans and cowl vent in my 65 mustang project at the time. And on this front bumper subject, when I first became a member of this site I had just purchased a 2004 Rubicon that had the front bumper ripped off of it. I cant remember if it was me or somebody else that posted looking for a front bumper for rubicon? But the consensus was back then that you basically bought brand new oem or built your own because there was no aftermarket. I ended up using what was left of my bumper(mounting brackets) and 1in square tubing and made my own front bumper and it turned out really nice and I posted pics of it on here but im not sure how to find them? And If I did, how to post them to this thread. I do remember TooDeep and I think Deserthawk? had their bumpers posted in the thread too. You would think by now some aftermarket company would have made a front bumper for 01-04 Rubicon by now tho!

Yeah, that was before the red plastic and new tires and that pic isnt the best because it makes the bumper look like it is flat where I did have the headlight areas angled back towards the body some.
I thought I posted a sideways pic of it too? cant remember
