Front Ring Gear cracked from DGL - Honda Foreman Forums : Rubicon, Rincon, Rancher and Recon Forum

Last year I had my Ring Gear cut down for new DGL install on my 07 Rubicon. DGL work great until a month ago when the left front wheel stopped pulling in 4 wheel drive. Dismantled front diff and found DGL clutches broken and worn. Then we found the area of the Ring Gear that had been machined down was cracked. I dont know what caused the cracked? Can a Ring Gear from an earlier Rubicon be used that doesnt need machining, I read older Rubicons didnt need machining for DGL install?

Does anyone know if an older ring gear would work on an 07 Rubicon, because like an 04 ring gear doesn't need machining for the DGL install?
