Its made thin to absorb impact and crumble. So you dont get hurt as much like if you had a solid bumper.

i guess, but my guess would be because its cheaper. if uve ever seen the inside of it it is like maybe a mm thick. its sad that they give that to u. i guess it could be because of safety but im willing to sacrifice for some decent metal

Its not that thin. It weld pretty good so it has to be some decent metal.
