Default 500 honda rubicon 03 need help please

hey i have a 03 rubi and when i bought it i had a rattling noisy coming from the engine it sounded to me.after riding it a while it mad a pop noise while i had it in a bind. i rode it to the house and it felt like it had triangle wheels on it. it would ride normal for a while then it would rare up and go back down.so i held it back from moving just to see if the noisy was coming from the engine but wasnt and it mad another pop and it was in drive and would not shift back to neutral.so it was in drive but you could free role it just as fast has u wanted. so i took the sensor off the left side it seemed to look like on the oil pump looked in and seen shaved metal and a tooth broke off the gear so i spun the gear a little to check for more damage a wala the shifter would go back to neutral and reverse just fine. so what im asking could it be just my sub tranmission or is it my hondamatic.

yes i have changed the oil twice it is full. i havent got into it far enough to adjust the clutch.but see its in gear and it free wheels like if u hooked behind a truck and got up to a hundred it will do every thing the truck will do.the gear shifter would was stuck in drive until i moved the gear that had a tooth broke off.now it will shift smooth.but the reason i dont think its the hondamatic is because they say when they go out they lose power well i had power all the way up until it popped.

Yep, oil pressure test is the first step. No clutch adjustment but you could try initializing the system but I don't think that is an issue here.

Can you tell us exactly what sensor you removed to see the shavings? Was it the angle sensor? Control motor?
As others have mentioned, an oil pressure test is first priority.
