As I found out this weekend, unless youre just the recovery vehicle or are dragging things around on the farm, it does get you hung up a LOT. Ended up pulling it off and just using the hitch loop for the strap. I can see where it would be helpful and where it would be a hinderance. BTW It's painted black now lol just had to put some paint on there for rust prevention.

I run this style of clevis with the hitch pin in upside done so it glides over objects and the clip does not get hooked on things and pulled out. Lost both the clevis and pin the hard way one time track sweeping at a race with the pin in from the top. The clip hooked something and popped out and then the hitch pin popped out and lost it and the clevis on the track. Looked back and my tow strap was dragging behind me with the loose end I hook up with wrapped around my back rack. Will try to get a few pics of it posted.

I have used them a couple times and have 3 in my box for back ups. They work good but once you get mud in the threads it makes it tough to work with. I take the pin loose a dozen or so times a race depending on how I need to hook up to the atv or dirt bike to get them out of the woods.

I bought one of these this past weekend at Lowes. I think it is going to work great down at the hunting property this weekend. We have 2 trailers one with the pin and one with a ball. I also like the hooks on it too.
