Default Saw Grip on my 2001

Thanks to Santa I got a Saw Grip for my 01 Ruby. Here's a pic. I looks like it will work pretty well...I'll update this next week after my New Years Eve trail ride.

Does it seem like its going to last awhile? I would like to get a saw holder but the old kolpin ones were prone to breaking after using them. Still think Im going to try make one myself.

I think I would have mounted it somewhere other than the front. The tree you wanted to cut might be around the next corner and slam, your saw is broke. It happened on a work day at the hunting club. Just a thought.

if I ever get back in my home and my bank roll back up, thats going to be my next Mod.

wanted to do it this year, but knew we had this house thing coming up, had to put it on the back burner.....I agree I would mount it some where else or turn it around for support of nothing else to take some of the weight off the blade

anyways I like it, here's a bigger pic for ya!

But on the other note if it works for you go for it, just havent heard of many saw mounts lasting.

That had been a concern of mine also, was thinking of sitting the Saw on the front rack with a support to take the weight off the mount....but as I said it's on the back burner for now.

what are some of the other Brand names for Saw Mounts? Spring/summer will be here before I know it.

it looks like it's used with a bracket, but is still sticking out where it could be ripped off the Quad by a tree!

I mounted it exactly like the instructions. Yeah - i wanted the saw to fit on top of the rack but the mount doesn't fit unless i drill new holes for the u-bolts. Since I don't ride with the saw unless i'm out to do trail clean-up, i'm not concerned about smashing my saw (OMG - famous last words!). I was just tired of the bungee-cord/hard case situation.

I also need the back rack for Jr., so mounting it on the back rack was out as well.

The rack is 3/16" powder coated steel plate - it should last. I may wear out the rubber clamp pads - i can see bits of rubber on my chain every time i take it in/out. Time will tell!

Went for a five mile trail ride. Worked good, although i kept it under 30. Saw didn't move; but i could still pull it out without turning the clamp screw.
