Smoking 06 Rubi
Buddy has an 06 Rubicon with about 1600 miles/ 238 hours on it. Just started smoking yesterday. No loss of power, runs fine. Doesn't seem to smoke at idle, but does when riding. I'm guessing stuck ring. I've done limited small engine work but the only thing I've done on a Honda is adjust the valves on my 09 FM500.
I did a search here and someone suggested a little PB blaster in the cylinder down the plug hole for a day or two. Another suggested seafoam. The thing sat for 2-3 months without being ridden so I'm skeptical that it would have stuck from lack of use. Anything else he can try? If it IS a ring, is riding it going to hurt anything assuming he keeps the oil full? If it does need a top end rebuild, what kinda $$$ would be reasonable? I'm tempted to try doing it, and were it mine I definitely would, but don't want to risk screwing his ride up worse than it already is, and he isn't a wrench turner.

Well local shadetree small engine guy quoted him $400-500 to rebuild top end. Said parts would be $150ish and labor would be $250-350. That sound about right for a top end rebuild?

if it dont need to be boared that seams a little high on the labor but with basic hand tools you can do it yourself in 3 hrs ..........we will help you threw the prosses man and save some green in the prosses
