from what i have read so far it show that it is the angle sensor system.i have taken it real deep in water and do a lot of mud riding. could be the reason why it went bad. my question is where is it located? i ordered the manual and should arive some time during the week. but if i can locate it before i get the manual i can change it out quickly. thanks in advance

Srry rich, I reread ur post.. ya the older rubi is very close but save this one to add to your own collection too.... share,share,share they say..lol

@2011rubi you probably need to put dielectric grease on ALL your wire harness connections, for some reason Honda doesnt ask dealers to do this.

i did a few that were easy acess already. but since i'm going to need to change that angle sensor i'm gonna do the rest while im there.

n e 1 know if i can just clean the sensor?

mecanicly the 2001-2011 is the same !!!!!!!!!! its just the plastics!!!!!!!!

The angel sensor is on the left side of the motor under the plastic cover (below the header pipe). Check the connector for moisture and if you remove it pay attention, it has to be preloaded when reinstalling it.

Rich, the electronics are different also on the newer Rubicons.They combined a few of the electrical boxes and moved them around on the machine. Most of the basics are the same but when diagnosing the electronics they are different.
