Sounds like a dirty carb. I know you have posted on here before but I can't remember all the details. It sounds like on of the jets are clogged.

ill def fwd that thread to them, im still scratching my head wondering what it could be tho. the quad only has 52 hrs on it. the tires still got the paint lines on them. you couldnt even look at the quad and tell it aint brand new. its never been dirty, never been muddy. the air filter is as clean as it was the day it rolled off the show room floor. so i dont know if its bad gas, or maybe the vavles out of spec. but it dont have no where near the power it should have.

Was the carb removed or parts of it?

Being an electronic technician, when ever I have worked on a piece of equipment and afterwards its working worse rather then better, I start looking for spare parts. I recheck to make sure nothing was put back in the wrong spot or wrong orientation.

Now not being a expert on gas motors or carbs by any definition, i can only speculate. My only formal training was shop class in high school (and that was an awful long time ago). But a carbureted engine is pretty simplistic, only needs three things, gas, air and spark. Since you need to add a bit of choke to get it to idle, I would guess the air/fuel mixture at now to lean and maybe also unstable.

There can also be unrelated issues that may cause problems like old gas. My '07 does not like stale gas, needs some choke to stay running. Has it had ethanol blended gas left in the tank? I hear it absorbs water when it sits for a while along with some other issues.

Ethanol info from Maine.

BUMP: does anybody have a diagram of the carb so i can tear it down. also this thing is hard to shift seems like it gets stuck in reverse and the only way to get it to go back into neutral is to cut off. im not sure if the carb is causing this due to high idoling but im trying to give this thing a good tune up. its hard trying to ride it with it spitting and sputtering at low RPMS

also ive noticed the oil temp light comes on alot. not sure what could becausing it, but if i shut it off and crank it back up the oil temp light goes off and stays off for a lil bit then comes back on. i dont think its getting hot idk why it would be comming on
