my 2009 honda recon es has always had trouble with cold starts since day one. full choke, rev engine a few times, then go to half choke, rev engine some more. eventually will get it going but it usually stalls once or twice.
i was thinking of adjusting engine idle speed? |

welcome to the forum!
do u have ice in the lines? run some methyl hydrate in your tank. sounds like some moisture in the fuel... mine does the same thing but doesn't get run long enough to get the methyl hydrate all the way through the system.

My '05 Foreman has to have the choke out hot or cold because of not having the compression release on the Weber camshaft. With it in it won't turn over, but out it will turn ok. My choke seems to pull back in after I pull it out and start it up.

Funny thing is it's not really a choke - its a "fuel enrichment". The cable is attached to a "metering rod" that just allows raw fuel to be dumped into the throttle.
But who really cares??
