Default 2002 rubicon rear axle

Hey guys been away from the forum for quite awhile. got a problem!!!!

My 02 rubi was making a popping noise that sounded like it was coming from the front of the swingarm area. upon inspection I found that the left rear axle bearing was bad( wore slap out). anyway I changed it, put it back together, and went for a ride down the road. made it about 1/4 mile and turned around(still popping). while climbing my driveway the rear wheels stopped turning( front wheel drive only ). so I proceded to tear it down, thinking i had stripped out the yoke, since thats where the popping seemed to be coming from. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!. Nothing wrong with the yoke or output shaft or any of the splines. anyway to make a long story shorter. I determined that my akle is stripped out or something in the rear end( I hooked the driveshaft back up and tried to find the slip by hand turning the axle....)

My question is this, I have a neighbor that has a 98 foreman 450es he is gonna sell for parts will the rearend and axles work on my rubi?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Part #s are differant, but they sure do look the same. I;m not 100% sure. You could try it and see. The only differance I see is where the final drive shaft connects to the differential.

Tear it apart and see what you exactly need. I'm junking mine out in a few days, got offered enough for the motor that it's going into a parts bike. Most of the rear end parts are new with less than 300 miles on them.

Got it tore apart and the axle is the problem it is just worn to where the splines are slipping, not broke just worn. ...... so I need an axle. anyone got one or know of a good place to get one.

Superatv.com is a good place to start. High-lifter.com deals in gorilla axles. Good luck...
